A Practical Partner with Real-World Experience

governance leadership strategic planning

I have the privilege of calling Seattle, Washington in the U.S. my home. I’ve also lived in San Francisco, Boston, and New York City.  Since 2005, my wonderful family, including 4 children, have lived abroad in the United Kingdom, Namibia, Ethiopia and Kenya.  All 4 children are third-culture kids, products of international school education, and are now pursuing college careers in the U.S.

For nine years, I served on the senior leadership team at the International Community School in Addis Ababa, leading strategic planning, communications, advancement, and strategic partnerships. I was also at the heart of international school governance, serving as the Board Administrator. During that time, I worked with 3 Heads of School, 10 board chairs, and over 50 trustees—securing institutional knowledge, optimizing board operations, rewriting policy, facilitating head searches, and helping shift the board structure from a fully elected model to a strategic hybrid.

My background spans 35+ years in marketing and communications. From advertising agencies to high-tech firms and global NGOs, I’ve led branding, identity, strategic and crisis communications.

My approach is simple: I don’t bring all the answers. I bring the right questions, structure, and support so your team can identify the answers that work for you. I bring frameworks, best practices, and strategies and help you translate them into practical and tangible action.

Clients often describe my facilitation style as empowering and practical. I combine case studies and interactive exercises to make governance and strategy accessible. Every workshop is a conversation. Every session is based on your context, your needs, your goals.
